MURFREESBORO - Middle Tennessee will bring a four-game winning streak into Wednesday night's women's basketball game, as the Blue Raiders play host to New Orleans at 7 p.m. inside the Murphy Center. The contest will open a three-game homestand, the longest of the regular season for the current Sun Belt East Division leaders.

Holding up a copy of the Tennessee Election Laws book, Stanley Dobson showed what is serving as his guide as he prepares for his first election as Cannon County's Administrator of Elections. At the same time, he also issued a recommendation to those persons seeking to hold elected office in Cannon County in the August 5 General Election.

While Mike McWhether is quite happy to be the son of one of Tennessee's most popular governors in recent history, he wants to make a name for himself in his own right. McWherter, son of former Governor Ned Ray McWherter, visited Woodbury Tuesday afternoon to campaign for the position held by his father from 1987 to 1995.

And the lights all went out in Massachusetts (am I on the only one that remembers the Bee Gees song?). The lights are now on and Americans are at home.
At the same place the American Revolution began over 200 years ago, a political revolution began this month. In liberal Massachusetts, Americans who believe in capitalism and free enterprise have rebuffed the far-reaching arm of the federal government and the socialist agenda proposed by the current administration.
