Today is decision day for Cannon County voters as they will go to the polls to select a number of county officials to serve the next four years.
WBRY owner Doug Combs and Woodbury Mayor Harold Patrick are set to announce election results Thursday night.

Hundreds of people have filled the Woodbury Town Square to await results of today's Cannon County General Election. Results are coming in slowly. WBRY Radio and the Cannon Courier are sponsoring a Party on the Square and election results are being announced over WBRY Radio as they come in.

Voting in the Aug. 5 County General Election began just after 7 a.m. today. Candidates and their supporters were lined up early outside of polling places, including Woodbury Grammar School, holding signs in an effort to sway the decisions of voters. The polls close at 7 p.m.

resolution passed Tuesday night by the Woodbury Board of Mayor and Aldermen might violate the town's charter are unfounded, Mayor Harold Patrick said Thursday.
