The Cannon County Elementary Basketball Tournament games scheduled for tonight at Woodbury Grammar School have been canceled. A make-up date will be announced at a later time.

Cannon County basketball players claimed to have one of the state's best Class AA teams even before the season started.
Sportswriters across the state who vote in the Associated Press Top 10 basketball polls seem to agree.

Both the Cannon County and Town of Woodbury government offices will be closing at 2 p.m. today due to road conditions. First National Bank has also announced it is closing a 2 p.m. FNB posted on Facebook its business day will end at 12:00 noon in order to balance out and process work. Regions Bank has announced it is closing at 1 p.m.

Nearly four inches of snow fell overnight in downtown Woodbury. Accumulation at 6 a.m. was nearly four inches. More snow is predicted throughout today and Tuesday. The main road through Woodbury has been cleared by the highway department. Side roads, especially hills, remain covered and are difficult to travel. Caution is advised for those who must drive today. The Cannon County Board of Education's monthly meeting, originally scheduled at Short Mountain School, will instead be held at the Cannon County Courthouse Thursday, school officials said Monday.

Cannon County Schools will be closed Monday, January 10, 2011. The Adams Memorial Library in Woodbury and the Auburntown Branch Library in Auburntown will be closed due to bad weather on January 10, 2011. Due dates on materials will be changed and fines will not be charged for closed days. Also, programs sponsored by the Cannon County Senior Center are closed Monday.
