It was a big send-off for Dianne McAllister who was honored with a retirement party at Auburn School after 30 years of committing her life to teaching. A great number of past and present students and their parents came by to say not "good bye" but "God bless". She will be missed.

Tim and DeAnna Reed with the help of family members and friends honored daughter, Alayna, with a post-graduation party Saturday the 28th. Tears were shed during the showing of a "down-thru-the-years" slide show to end the festivities.

Several families left out for vacations following the week after school.

It was the Atlantic Ocean and Hilton Head, SC that was popular for some. Todd, Susan, Lauren and Mackenzie Turney spent a couple of weeks enjoying the ocean view and good eating.

Brad and Stefanie Leach, Samantha and Madison were also there to enjoy some "rest and relaxation" on the beach.

It was the Gulf of Mexico beach that Wade and Jennifer Duggin enjoyed when they vacationed in Gulf Shores, AL

Bobby and Brenda Francis enjoyed some horseback riding at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.

Daisy Taylor and mom, Rachel, spent a week camping out with Girl Scout group 253 in Savannah, GA. They toured many interesting sites around the old city to include the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, Roman Catholic Church, Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace and going to Tybee Island where they stood at the top of a lighthouse and watched paratroopers jump out of a helicopter into the ocean! Wow! The group's leader is none other than Rebekah Bryan Tate.

Of course, Jerry and Beverly Bryan enjoyed a visit with grandson Levi Tate while mom was gone as well as visits with grandchildren, Allie, Eli, Maya and Isaiah Wilson of LaVernge. Great grandparents, Gene and Wilma Harris, also enjoyed some good times with them.

What a great day I had on Memorial Day which also happened to be my 7th decade (better than 70 years, right?!) birthday. It was grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and best of all, bacon-wrapped-bbq fresh Louisiana shrimp. There was a "used" cake on hand - used being what was left of Alayna's graduation cake! The whole night was topped off with a corn hole tournament. Ruth and Marvin Davenport stopped by during the tournament with Marvin trying his hand.

It's good to know that Robert Fletcher is home following an overnight stay at St Thomas Rutherford.

Our thoughts and prayers for Bobbie Whited who is currently (Wednesday) in Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, Nashville. She is still a warrior and fighting. Prayers for her family also.

It was a fun night Sunday night following church services for Daniel, Jennifer, William and Grant Buterbaugh, Kyle, Kullon and Shiloh Patrick, Bethany and Rylon Morrison, Tim, DeAnna, Alayna and Adrianna Reed, Case Isenhart, Janna and Ryan Womack and myself as we were at the Moonlight Drive-in for movie night.

It's Vacation Bible School time so are you ready to be "Submerged" in God's Word? VBS at Prosperity Baptist began Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. and is continuing through this Thursday. Times are 6:00-8:30 p.m. each night. Family night is this Sunday at 6:00. There is a class for everyone - from 0-however old you are - or want to be - so come on.

Looks like it's birthday time and Alberta Griffith begins our list on the 8th. Kathryn Faille celebrates the 9th while Danny Nichols and John King have theirs the 10th. Connie Turney and Lindsay Kraft enter a new year on the 11th. The 12th belongs to Ariel Bailey, Crystal Kennedy and Dianna McAllister. Lori Jakes gets her cake on the 13th and Martye Harris finishes the week on the 14th. Happy birthday to all of you.

I have no anniversaries so have a good week..
