Although this says "FIRST" Annual Auburn Knights Alumni Game, some of us can remember when that was an annual thing when we had a high school. But then this is the "first" for the Auburn Grammar School to sponsor and it's set for Thursday October 8th. There are 4 divisions. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. there is a scrimmage game for girls in grades 4th-8th. This is followed at 6:00 p.m. with a boys scrimmage game - same grades. Beginning at 6:30, it's a free throw competition and then at 7:00 p.m. it's the MAIN EVENT. During half-time of this game, the "pee-wees" will perform.

Who can play you ask? It's for anyone who is has graduated and is an alumni of Auburn School (high and grammar). If you are interested in participating, contact Regan Vaughn at regan.vaughn@ccstn.net. The last time I played, it was half court with 3 on 3 in each court! Whew that's been a few days ago.
There will also be food available so come out and support the Auburn Knights basketball teams and enjoy food, fun and a good "Knight". Admission is $3.00 with the proceeds going to the teams.

It was a very pleasant surprise for a "young" lady Sunday the 20th. There were 50+ family, friends, and neighbors who were waiting on the arrival of Ernestine Tate to wish her a happy 96th birthday! The event was given to her by her children and grandchildren and was hosted by Ann Bryson.
Dwight Saddler spent a few days in Gatlinburg last week. It was a reunion with several of those he served with in Vietnam.
Congratulations to Abby Jakes James who is now a Certified Nursing Assistant and should already be graduated when you read this as graduation was last night (Monday the 28th).

Lisa Reed has been on the road again - is anyone surprised! It was the annual "girls' beach trip" for her and Jennifer Duggin when they traveled with friend, Brooke Nicole, to Fort Walton Beach, FL for a week-long stay.

Sunday it was a double birthday celebration at our house. Our new granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Patrick, chose ?plain? brownies (she's not been in the family long enough!!) with homemade chocolate syrup for her birthday dessert. On the other hand, our daughter, Bethany Morrison, chose a Smore's Cheesecake for her dessert. Nothing simple for her!

Don't forget the Harvest Festival coming up this Friday, October 2nd. Beginning at 6:00 p.m, beautiful young ladies and handsome young men will begin marching in to crown the 2015-2016 Queens and Kings. A silent auction and cakewalks follow the program. And as always, delicious food is available so don't bother to cook supper; you won't want to miss this.

Opening up the month of October with a birthday are Lori Jackson and Paul Leyhew. Skipping to the 3rd with celebrations are Mark Tenpenny and Jason Whited. Brenan Reed turns 12 on the 5th. Evidently the 6th is a popular day to be born! Our son, Ray, hits the half century mark (that makes me old!). That's the same day that Tim Cooper, Barry Gaither, Wilma Harris, McKenzie Bennett and Natalie Burkhead was born. Whew! Happy birthday to all of you.
Congratulations and happy anniversary to Wade and Jennifer Duggin who celebrate their 8th. According to my sources Wade that means a gift of either pottery/bronze or linens/lace! Just a hint!!
