The election is over and now it's time to move on.

News is not as long as last week's so here goes with what I do have:

Remember Tom Allen and his family in prayers at this time. Mr. Tom is not doing well.

Also Jewell Dale is currently in Vanderbilt Hospital after undergoing a procedure last Friday. She has developed a little complication and also needs your prayers.

Larry Turner has been in Vanderbilt following some open heart surgery. He is home and doing well.

Regan Vaughn and Blake Higgs were united in marriage in a beautiful ceremony Saturday the 5th. The event was held at her mom's home in Murfreesboro. Congratulations!

An alumnus of Auburn High School attended his home church Sunday the 6th. Everyone enjoyed his piano playing and visiting with him.

Monday little Lilyan Adora Bennett enjoyed some good old spoiling by great grandma (MeMe), Robbie Owen. Of course mom, Michelle, and dad, Aaron, tagged along! Also doing their share of the spoiling were Ruth and Marvin Davenport and Betty Thomas.

Monday night, John, Angie and Hannah Whited were at Brentwood Academy to attend the 2016 Mid-State Cross Country Association Banquet. Hannah placed 5th on the All mid-state gold team. And she was awarded the coveted bobble head trophy for making the mid-state team all 4 years of cross country!! Not many runners make it all 4 years! Very proud!

Grammar School basketball season sure was short this year. It was 8th grade night for the Lady Knights and Knights and their cheerleaders Thursday night the 3rd. "Movin' on up" are Lady Knights Katelyn Duggin, Baleigh Fulkerson and Shelby Parker; Knights are Ian Heffelfinger, Hunter Patterson and Ehtan Powers; their cheerleaders are Anna Leach, Keke Poynter and Audrey Gordon.

Wednesday was "birthday" lunch time albeit very late for Wilma Harris and Ruth Davenport. Enjoying lunch at Cracker Barrel and doing some "Dillard" window shopping with them were Robbie Owen, Betty Thomas and me.

Kullon Harris Patrick begins our birthday list this week when he celebrates his 5th on the 16th. That's the same day Colin Crawley hits the "sweet sixteen" and "little" Randy Toombs has his 27th. Mark Stinnett turns 61 on the 17th. The 18th sees Brooke Mingle Harrell, Stanley Dobson and Teresa Kennedy all celebrating their day. Tyler Gilley hits the 19th mark the same day Teresa Davenport Smith celebrates which is the 19th. Linda Hayes celebrates her 63rd on the 20th the same day TJ George turns 16. Happy birthday you all!

It's the 24th year on the 21st for Roy Nelson and Kathy Pugh. Bobby and Joelene Bobo have their 42nd on the 22nd. Happy anniversary to both couples.

FYI: I send the news in each Wednesday afternoon. If you have any you would like to see in the A'town column, please get it to me by noon each Wednesday. I will be happy to put it here.
