Since I gobbled 'til I wobbled, the news for last week didn't make it in in time. So here is 2 weeks' worth for readers.

It was off to Wood, SD recently for a week's worth of deer hunting for Jonathon Francis, Colton Tuck and Scott Dobson.

Thursday the 17th Woodbury Nursing Center served their Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoying the meal and visit with their mother/grandmother, Ernestine Tate, were Ernest and Rita Davis, Ann Bryson, John and Kim Francis, Londyn and Brookyn Francis, Ricky and Joan Bryson, Megan Davis, Tony and Sherry Young and Amanda, Allison and Waylong Francis.

Donna and Eddie Nichols and Connie and Paul Leyhew enjoyed Thanksgiving meal with Donna's mom, Sara Gaither. However, Saturday the 26th, Sara joined husband Wimp and other family members around the Lord's table. Our thoughts and prayers to her loved ones.

Sara Gaither's enjoyed her meal with Donna and Eddie Nichols and Connie and Paul Leyhew.

Our thoughts and prayers to Shannon Brown Patrick on the sudden death Saturday the 19th of her mom, Sandra Brown.

He served our country in WWII but most of all he served his God in the Lord's Army. Tom Allen is now fighting no more wars as he began his walk on the streets of gold Friday the 18th. Our prayers for wife, Layde Allen and other family members.

It was up early and off to Pigeon Forge Saturday the 19th for the Prosperity Baptist Church's youth annual trip to Hearts on Fire. Youth making the trip were Alayna and Adrianna Reed, Case Isenhart, Jordan Blackburn, Emily Keaton, Shelby Clayborn, Garrett Hayes, Hailey Walker, and Haley Satterfield. Leaders and chaperones were Bro. David Moody, Holly Clayborn, Joanie and Chris Blackburn, Derrick and Sherry Satterfield, Linda Hayes, Janna Womack and Alan Hayes.

Chris and Jordan did slip off for an afternoon of football at Neyland Stadium.

Sunday the 20th another group of youth left out for Opryland Hotel to attend the Beta Convention. Students attending were Garrett Goff, Jada Bobo, Leighanne Dodd, Jesse Tucker-Vaughn, Alyssa Sylvester, Olivia Robbins, Sarah Wheeler, Alana Rusnock, Hunter Patterson, Ethen Powers, Brenden Reed, Wesley Patton, Jacob Tramel, Hannah Junker, Caitlyn Crook, Kiley Hughes, Daisy Taylor, Anna Williams, Katelyn Duggin, Shelby Parker, Anna Leach and Carly Brown. Beta leaders DeAnna Reed and Dianne McAllister and other guests were Emily Crook, Holly Sylvester and Tiffany Junker.

The group performed their skit Monday and extra attendees for that were Triston Swan, Alex Williams and Melody Williams.

That same afternoon John and Kim Francis hosted a "I Love the 80's" birthday party for their granddaughter, Allison Francis, who turned 7.

Congratulations to Katelyn Duggin and Shelby Parker who made the girls' All-Tournament Team in the recent Cannon County Grammar School Basketball Tournament.

There were lots of tables loaded down with turkey/dressing/gravy/sweet potatoes, etc. where family members gathered around for a day of thanksgiving.

Then it was off to begin Black Friday shopping for many (not me!)

She sure doesn't look like the Ninja Warrior type but that's the theme of Lily Crook's 10th birthday party held Saturday the 26th at The Ascent in Murfreesboro. There were climbing walls, pizza and cupcakes for the 17 friends who joined her in celebration. Happy belated birthday Lily.

Other belated wishes go to Chris Zimmer, Dan Wilkerson, Joseph McFerrin and Ryan Fletcher the same day as Lily's which is the 30th. Fred Schaefer and Dale Mayo opened up the month of Christmas. Jacob Bobo and Russell Fults celebrated theirs the 3rd. The 4th was for Randy Lee Toombs with Todd Turney and Tammy Swift celebrating the 5th. Happy belated birthday to all of you.

Austin Duggin turns 17 the same day Travis Baines has his 23rd and Stefanie Leach celebrates which is the 7th. Donna Yule Stanfield and Judith Nichols Vanhook have birthdays the 8th. It's happy birthday to Chris Fletcher on the 9th and Ken Turney and Cheyenne Sampson on the 10th. It's Mahalie Mullinax who has a birthday on the 11th with Jackie Hays and Jillian Brooke Hughes having one the 12th. Finishing up the week on the 13th are Matt Gaither and Stephen Joyce. Happy birthday to all of you.

It's just one year until they hit their golden wedding anniversary for Paul and Connie Leyhew who married Decemeber 8, 1967. Happy anniversary you love birds!
