Danny Nichols to address historical society

The Cannon County Historical Society meets Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The Historical Society schedules meetings throughout the year which are held at the Cannon County Senior Citizen's facility at Woodbury. Look for the Historical Society sign at the entrance.

Other meetings for 2019 will be July 9, September 10 and November 12.

Guest speaker for the May meeting will be charter member Danny Nichols. His topic will be "Preserving Cannon County History."

Born and raised in Cannon County, Danny graduated from Auburn High School in 1971 and received an Associate of Science Degree from Cumberland College before attending Oxford University England summer school in 1974. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1975 and now makes his home in Giles County. His publications include the "William and Mary Nichols" family of Cannon County Tennessee, along with the voluminous 1,453-page study of the "Beverly Willard" family of Virginia and Tennessee.

Founding member of the Auburntown Historical Society, Nichols served as its president for four years.
