Donny Sissom

Donny Sissom passed away on June 11, 2013, at age 62 after a long illness.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse C. and Mildred Hibdon Sissom.  He is survived by his son, Charles Brian Sissom; brother, Danny Sissom; and sister, Mary Irene Sissom.

 

  Donny was a retired farmer and was also employed as a Transportation Supervisor and Traffic Manager with Consolidated Freightways for 21 years.  He was a 1968 graduate of Woodbury Central High School and completed the Motor Carrier Rate and Transportation Program at the University of Tennessee, Nashville, in 1974.  He served on the freight-rate committees of Tennessee and the Interstate Commerce Commission and was a past member of the Nashville Traffic Club.  Donny enjoyed the arts as a member of Cheekwood and patron of the Nashville Symphony.  He was a member of the Kingwood Church of Christ.
