On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, Eleanor Watkins passed away at home after a long illness. A memorial is planned pending Eleanor's return home from Vanderbilt School of Medicine as a body donor. She was 88 years old.

Preceded in death by her parents Maxium and Vesta Ruggles, brother Hugh Ruggles, husband Wilton Watkins, son David Watkins and daughter Pam Sitzman.

She is survived by her only living daughter, Melody "Cherokee" Watkins, son-in-law Hank Sitzman and grandchildren Kimberly, Erika, Amanda and Craig, two very loving life-long friends, Bennie Lawson and Lee Kennison. There are eight great-grandchildren and numerous loving nephews, nieces and friends.
