First responders to be honored on Sept. 11

The Outstanding Cannon County and City of Woodbury First Responders for Year 2018 will be recognized and honored on September 11, 2018 during the Patriot's Day Ceremony at the Cannon County High School. The public is invited. The program starts at 10:00 a.m. in the gym.

The American Legion Post 279 will conduct a special program to honor all of our first responders and military personnel, to make sure, "THAT WE NEVER FORGET 9/11."

Legionnaire Christine Barrett, Project Director, will have posters and brochures for handout to our guests.

The Honorees being recognized and presented with Certificates of Meritorious Service and Special Trophies this year are:

• Tommy Barker, Cannon County Sheriff's Department

• Eric Campbell, Cannon County Firefighter

• Dwayne Lambert, Cannon County Rescue Squad

• Karen Ashford, Cannon County 911 Emergency Communications District

• Jason Barrett, Cannon County Ambulance Service

• Tommy Miller, Woodbury Police Department

• Timothy C. (Chase) Stewart, Firefighter - Town of Woodbury

We will also recognize and honor Greta K. Stone for her Outstanding Award as the Outstanding Emergency Medical Technician for the State of Tennessee American Legion Department of Tennessee for 2018.

Please come out and honor these truly outstanding individuals, and thank them for their service.
