How do I know my investment in United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties help the people in Cannon County? That is a good question and a valid one. United Way believes in total transparency and is eager to report back to the community how your hard earned dollars is invested.
Last year a total of $28,723.52 was raised for Cannon County. $3,115.00 came directly from investments within Cannon County and $25,608.52 came from funds that were designation from companies and individuals outside of Cannon County; those funds are defined as designated funds. However, $52,572.00 was invested back into Cannon County.
The following is a breakdown of the programs that were funded:
Cannon County Senior Center (Partner Agency) $ 30,500.00
We Care Cannon (grant award) $ 4,000.00
Food Backpack Program of Woodbury United $ 5,000.00
Methodist Church (grant award)
Cannon County Save; Domestic Violence Education $ 5,000.00
And Court Advocacy Program (grant award)
Cannon County 4-H Program (grant award) $ 1,800.00
Non-Partner designations $ 6,272.00
Total $ 52,572.00
Cannon County is served by 26 partner agencies of your United Way in areas of Education - helping children and youth achieve their potential; Health - improving peoples health; Income - promoting financial stability and independence; and Rebuilding Lives - response, relief, and recovery.
These four areas are supported by programs such as Success By 6 active learning, VITA or Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, FamilyWize Prescription Discount Cards, Long-Term Disaster Relief Organization program, the 2-1-1 program - connecting people to local services - and other programs that positively impact the lives of your neighbors.
