James Ellis “Jimmy” Nipper Sr., age 65, died Friday March 5, 2010 following a heart attack. He was a native of Rutherford County and son of the late Roy and Delia Lannom Nipper. Mr. Nipper was also preceded in death by his first wife; Patricia Webb Nipper, brothers; Bud and Thomas Nipper, and sisters; Dorothy Sissom, Frances Rader, and Elizabeth McDonald.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother John Bush and Bud Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in Nipper Family Cemetery.

Mr. Nipper is survived by his wife; Shirley Tallent Nipper, three sons; Jim E. Nipper Jr. of Murfreesboro, Danny (Amanda) Nipper of Woodbury, and Beau Nipper of Seattle, Washington, daughters; Lisa (Earl) Black and Missy (Robert) Baxter both of Woodbury, step son; Mark Black of Walter Hill, step daughter; Mechelle Wilson of Woodbury, 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, brothers; Billy Ray (Helen) Nipper of Dowelltown, Johnny (Marge) Nipper of Middletown, PA., George Nipper of Hartsville, Paul Nipper of Murfreesboro, and Alfred Nipper of Madison, sisters; Connie Black of Murfreesboro, Pat (Leon) Burks of Summitville.

Mr. Nipper was a driver for Goggin Trucking for 31 years before his retirement. He was a 1962 graduate of Kittrell High School and attended Pocahontas Church of Christ.
