John R. “Johnny” Womack Sr.

John R. “Johnny” Womack Sr. died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at River Park Hospital.

 Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Morris Moore, Bro. Tim Ferguson and Bro. Mike Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Centerhill Cemetery.

Visitation is planned for noon to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at Woodbury Funeral Home.

 A Cannon County native, Mr. Womack is survived by his wife, Thelma Hibdon of Woodbury; his children, John (Carla) R. Womack Jr. of McMinnville, Vanessa (David) Parton of Blues Hill community and Daniel Womack; grandchildren, Josh and Jonathon Womack, Dustin Sissom and Ethan Parton; a great grandchild, Eric Womack; and siblings, Joyce Owen and Susie Morris of Woodbury and Rachel Tittsworth of Shelbyville.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Wood B. Womack and Clara Mae King Womack.

 Mr. Womack was a member of the Centertown United Methodist Churchand was retired from the Cannon County Courthouse. He loved to go coon hunting and mule and horse shows. He loved his hunting dogs and enjoyed short trips.
