Kenneth Douglas Wetzel, 63, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Centennial Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was a native of Warren Co.

He is survived by his 5 Children: Sam Wetzel of Murfreesboro, Mary Wetzel of Woodbury, William Wetzel of Bradyville, Toby Wetzel of Lafayette, LA. And Kimberly Haynes of AZ. and grandchildren, Peyton Fults, Noah & Bryson Wetzel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Eugene & Mary Ronalda Wetzel.

Kenny had a lifelong career in law enforcement. He was Retired from the Cannon Co. Sheriff Dept. where he was Sheriff from 2001 - 2006. He was a Deputy Sheriff from 1974 - 2001 and a former Investigator in Warren Co. He was a veteran serving in the Marines and a member of the FOP, Sheriff's Assoc. and the Masonic Lodge of Woodbury. Kenny was also a Professor at MTSU teaching Criminal Justice.

He loved to Scuba dive but above everything else, he loved his family.

Funeral Services will be 1 pm Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Mitchellofficiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, McMinnville. Visitation with the family will be from 4 - 8 pm Thursday, November 20, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodbury Funeral Home to help his children with funeral expenses.
