The Cannon County Lions and Monterey Wildcats face off in tonight's opening season high school football game at Fred Schwartz Field.
The Lions are led by junior running back Ryan Perkins and sophomore quarterback Kolby Miller. The wing-T offense will offer a different look as the Lions will be utilizing the pistol formation for most of their offensive plays.
Despite two new full time faces in the linebacker corps on defense, the Lions have enough experience up front and their secondary is expected to be much better this season.

The Wildcats are young but return running back Mason Bowman and Matthew Montgomery who led Monterey to a 35-6 win over Cannon County in Monterey in both teams season opener last season.

Tonight's theme is construction. Expect students and fans to be dressed in construction gear. Bring your hard hat and work boots. Kickoff is slated for 7p.
