Man Lets Woman Drive Car While Allegedly Under Influence

Pleas Edward Shultz, 811 S. McCrary St., Woodbury, was charged with DUI By Consent on Feb. 23 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire.

Patrolman Fesmire stopped a 2000 Saturn on College St. for expired tags. The driver was found to allegedly be under the influence of an intoxicant. Shultz was a passenger and is the owner of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Connie Gale Chapman (aka Ashford) was charged with DUI and violation of the Implied Consent law.

Chapman admitted to taking Xanax and Percocet approximately two hours before the stop. She failed to perform field sobriety tests to the satisfaction of Patrolman Fesmire.

Chapman’s bond was set at $1,000. Shultz was issued a release citation. Initial court date for both is April 24.
