OBITUARY: James Robert Hammons

James Robert Hammons, age 58, passed away Sunday September 3, 2017 at Alvin C. York Medical Center. He was a native of Crossville, TN.

Mr. Hammons is survived by his fiancée, Jo Ann Burger of Morrison, TN; two daughters, Lacee Hammons and Christina Clingerman both of Michigan; grandson, Tyler Hammons of Michigan; siblings, Debra Dillow and Teresa Hammons both of Pensacola, FL; nieces, Leah Hammons of Pensacola, FL, Elli (Justin) Del Rosario and Breanna Towry both of Atlanta, GA; and grand-nephew, Jayse Towry of Atlanta, GA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Geneza Norris Hammons.

Mr. Hammons was a member of the Navy for 8 years. He was a construction worker and music teacher. James played guitar for many bands over the years.

\Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Amity Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8.
