Fall break has come and gone but many enjoyed trips in and out of the state.

It was off to Virginia Beach, VA, for a Todd and Melton trip which included Ronnie and Judy Todd and Mark, April, Tommy and Taylor Melton. Might have been a little bit chilly but it sure looked like fun times.

Orlando, FL and Disneyworld was the annual location trip for Brad and Stefanie Leach and Samantha and Madison Gaither. They flew out Saturday landing to enjoy lots of rides in the park and sights to see there.

Gatlinburg was a favorite of several. Eric, Beth, Evan and Ella Saddler were there the week before since it was Watertown's Fall break. They enjoyed the ski lift ride - especially the trip down as they say a bear!

Thomas and Cheryl Mingle treated brother, Jimmy, and Millie King to a one-day look at the scenery Sunday.
Others staying a little longer were Jason, Melinda and Lily Crook.

John, Angie, Hannah and Justin Whited with friend, Spencer Haley, were there several days. It was a helicopter ride over the mountains that was a real treat for them.

Leslie Pursell and mom, Cheyrel, had a great mother-daughter stay taking in several shows and lots of good eating places including but not limited to Paula Deen's and the Old Mill. The last day was spent shopping at the outlet malls and lunching at the Apple Barn. With all the shows they saw, it was the Lumberjack Feud Show where Mom won a prize and got them both on the big screen. Is anyone surprised!!

Sunday afternoon, it was off the Mountains for a "Sisters' Trip" with Ruth Davenport (and Marvin), Robbie Owen, Betty Thomas and P-pa (and me). Monday it was a trip across the mountains to Maggie Valley where we just happened to be there in time for a delicious lunch at Maggie Valley Restaurant. Tuesday was a day of lolling around the cabin waiting for time to attend the Dixie Stampede Show and eat their "little hen"!
Saturday prior to our big trip, it was a day of Bell Buckle Craft Fair for DeAnna and Adrianna Reed, Janna Womack and myself. We saw Lisa Reed, Kendall Duggin and Katelyn enjoying the beautiful day of shopping.

We left Bell Buckle in time to make it to the first birthday party for Shiloh Patrick at her home in Walter Hill. Tim Reed brought Ppa and Alayna Reed (who was nearby at Sharp Springs Park for a race). Other family members were present to help her begin her 2nd year.
Thursday the 8th, the Recycled Teens of Auburn Baptist Church traveled to Murfreesboro where they enjoyed lunch at Cheddar's and on to Target for some shopping. The "teens" were Steve and Janice Fletcher, J.C. and Joan Hughes, Sandy Osborne, Hallean Tate, Robbie Owen, Betty Thomas, Shirley Mingle, Joyce Dutton and Paul and Connie Leyhew.

This community has lost two natives this past week. Our condolences to Phillip Phelps who fought a hard battle with cancer and to Jimmy Pitts who passed away following a lengthy illness. Praying the family will find solace in the arms of God.

It's birthday time and beginning the "happys" this week is Kathy O'Neal on the 28th. Joyce Coe's is the 29th. Halloween is not only celebrated by the "spooks, goblins and such" but also by Debbie Cheatham and Hallean Tate each with a birthday. Opening up the month of November and ending our list is Ruth Davenport who hits the 81 mark. Happy birthday to all of you.
Happy anniversary to Ed and Kathryn Faille who celebrate the 28th.
Have a safe and happy Halloween.
