Mrs. Ruby Parker, 95, of Coffee County died Dec. 10, 2009. She was born Jan. 14, 1914.

Her parents were the late George Washington Miller and Alice (Carr) Miller. Also, preceding her in death are her husband, Garrett Parker; three brothers, Clark Miller, Chester Miller and Vine Miller; five sisters, Bertha Hickerson, Beulah Woods, Charlie McBride, Alma Miller and an infant sister.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie & Blonda Parker of Manchester, Billy & Janice Parker of Murfreesboro and Bobby & Judy Parker of Murfreesboro; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a special friend Beulah "Boots" Stone.

Mrs. Parker was born and raised in the Shady Grove community of Coffee County. She was a member of Lumley Stand Church of Christ. She was described as a good homemaker and caretaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, canning food. It was said that she was always busy doing things and couldn't sit still for three minutes.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 from 2-8 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at 11 AM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Charles Deaton and Billy Vaughn will officiate. Interment will be in Midway Cemetery.
