As of 12 noon Cannon County EMA Director Roy Sullivan reports no motor vehicle accidents have been reported so far. Motorists should use extreme caution if they are having to be out on the roads today.

1. Slow Down and Increase Following Distance: Lower your speed and increase distance between you and the vehicle in front of you to allow enough time to stop.
2. Be Cautious on Bridges and Overpasses: Approach bridges and overpasses with care and avoid sudden braking when crossing. Bridges and overpasses tend to freeze quicker than other parts of the road.
3. Stay Visible: You can increase your visibility and visibility to other drivers by using your headlights during snowy and icy conditions. Check all your vehicle lights to make sure they are in working order.
4. Prepare for Delays: If you drive in inclement weather, allow yourself extra time for your trip.
5. Check Your Vehicle's Condition: Make sure your vehicle is ready for adverse weather conditions. Make sure your windows are free of snow and ice before traveling.
