In the girls' game, it was all Lady Warriors as the defense held the Lady Tigers to only two points during the first half leading 25-2. The Lady Tigers were led by Lacon Parton with nine points. In the boys' game, the Warriors were also looking to bounce back after losing their final game at the Border War tournament last week. Like the girls, the Warriors jumped out early as they ended the opening quarter with a 16-0 run to take a 26-4 lead. The Tigers fought back with a 9-0 run of its own to start the second, thanks to seven points in a row by Eli Cantrell, including a deep three, and a steal and basket. However, the Warriors answered with an 11-0 run to end the first half, including seven points in a row by Blake Bush, including a long distance bomb and his own steal and basket to take a 39-13 advantage at the half. The Warriors finished off the Tigers, 53-19, and as part of the school's Blackout celebration, the students threw toilet paper on the court after the game. Next week, the Courier will be at Auburn at Short Mountain on Nov. 9 and Westside at Woodbury Grammar on Nov. 12.
