The workshop will introduce participants to the following social media content creation concepts:

  • Defining and understanding basic principles of layout and design for social media content
  • Basic technical skills and content-building tools found within the Canva creative suite
  • Defining and understanding the basic principles of visual branding and how to align your visual brand elements to support a unified brand image online
  • Basic principles of social media strategy and tactics including social media copy and the timing of social media posts

Laptop computers will be available to registrants for use during the technical portions of the workshop. Basic computer literacy (ability to navigate a laptop computer and utilize web browsers such as Google Chrome) is recommended for participation in the program.

Registration is free, but pre-registration is required. Sessions will be offered at the following cities and dates:

  • Chattanooga, November 6
  • Cookeville, November 7
  • Dickson, November 19
  • Knoxville, November 21

Due to the hands-on nature of this educational program, seating is limited. Participation in a session is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register for a session is five (5) business days before the date of each workshop. Registration for a session will close when all seats are filled if capacity is reached prior to the registration deadline.

Individuals interested in attending one of the Design to Strategy sessions can register online now at tiny.utk.edu/BuildingBlocks.

Producers participating in a session of the Design to Strategy workshops will fulfill one Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP) Producer Diversification educational requirement for the following Producer Diversification sectors: Agritourism, Fruits and Vegetables, and Value-Added. Questions about TAEP should be directed to the TAEP Producer Diversification Coordinator at the Tennessee Department of Agriculture at producer.diversification@tn.gov.

Funding for this program is made possible, in part, by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service. Additional information about the Southeast Dairy Business Innovation Initiative can be found at tiny.utk.edu/sdbii.
