Adams Memorial Library now offers support to the visually handicapped with a Closed Circuit TV (CCTV), thanks to the Woodbury Lions Club and the Middle Tennessee Lions Sight Service. The device enlarges any reading material placed under its lights and projects the result on a television screen.

Auburtown resident, Jennifer Duggin, returned home 11-29 for two weeks leave from Iraq. The Women's Bible Class at Auburn Baptist Church of which Jennifer is a member, held a "Welcome Home Birthday Party" in celebration of her 36th birthday 12/3/09.

The last 2009 meeting of the Woodbury Board of Alderman met in a fairly short meeting Tuesday. All were present for the meeting. Those attending were Mayor Patrick, Vice Mayor Charley Harrell, Fay Northcutt-Knox, Lois Larimer, Dottie Duggin Clayton Cason, and Joann Davis. Also in attendance was the city’s attorney Bill Bryson and Recorder Charlene Odom.

Long-time Cannon County Circuit Court Clerk Robert H. "Hoppy" Davenport is retiring from his position next month.
Davenport, who has held the elected position for over three decades, informed Cannon County Executive Mike Gannon by letter on Dec. 2 that he would be stepping down from his post effective January 15, 2010.
