Basketball Monday Features High School and Grammar School Ball

Basketball fans will have plenty of local basketball to follow on two different levels tonight.
The Woodbury Grammar School hosted pre-season basketball tournament gets underway with a girls matchup as Auburn meets Woodbury Grammar with tipoff slated at 4:30.
At 5:45, the second game features a boys matchup between Woodland and Eastside, while the East Side Lady Tigers play Short Mountain in the opening round's third game of the evening at 7:00. 8:15 will pit Woodbury Grammar against Auburn boys. All games tonight will take place at Woodbury Grammar School.

The Cannon County Lions and Lionettes host 6-AA District opponent Smith County tonight at Robert A. Harris Gymnasium.
The Lionettes try to snap a three game losing streak as they play the Lady Owls who are 9-3 on the season and winners of 9 straight after starting with 3 losses.
The Lions are trying to find some scoring help to take some of the burden off leading scorer Gus Davenport and help put Cannon in a better position to win some games. They meet an 11-4 Smith County team who returns most of their team from last season and have won six of their last eight.
Tonight's games will be video streamed live on Cannon Courier News and Events Facebook Page. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. Stream will be up and running at 5:50.
