Funeral services for Betty Jean Thomas Cook, age 92 of Shelbyville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Rosson officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to funeral services beginning 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cook was a native of Bedford County, born September 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie Lee Potts and Mary Ethel Parsons Potts. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Aaron Ward Thomas; 2nd husband, Harold Cook; and daughter, Teri Thomas Schuman.

Betty had worked for many years with the Shelbyville Times Gazette and Tullahoma News. Later she would work with Mary's Flowers and finished her working career with Flowers for Keeps. She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church.

She is survived by: son, Mark Thomas and wife Donna of Shelbyville; daughter, Kathy Gannon and husband Tim of Woodbury; grandchildren, Tera Davis and husband Ricky, Ashley Johnson and husband Jacob, Eric Hayworth and wife Abby, Tyler Thomas, and Carly Gannon; along with five great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association @ www.alz.org.

Doak-Howell Funeral Home will be serving the family.
