The United Way Catalyst Program is a United Way program that helps train nonprofit volunteer leaders of tomorrow. Over the course of nine sessions, we will provide education in areas such as governance, financial accountability, advocacy, diversity and inclusion, and fundraising. We also provide opportunities for participants to learn about the many different structures and models of nonprofits and to gauge their individual interest in potential volunteer leadership roles within these nonprofits in our community.
Mission Statement:
To connect and develop business leaders in the community to become engaged in social responsibility through the means of advocacy, giving and volunteerism. The program aims to meet the needs of society today, while proactively preparing and pursuing measures in place for future generations.

2022 - 2023 Catalyst Participant Testimonial:
"The Catalyst Program challenged me to rethink what it means to be a volunteer leader and gave me the tools to meet the challenge. The program dove into the scope of running a nonprofit and the ways a board member impacts the big picture. We discussed components of a successful nonprofit, heard experiences from countless community members, and even visited multiple nonprofits to see them in action. Additionally, we were surrounded by like-minded individuals seeking opportunities to make a difference in our community. If there's any place that will inspire you to make a difference and provide a pathway to give back to Rutherford County, it's the Catalyst Program!"
