Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary is having an Open House Saturday May 17th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. We will be hosting a Gold Party for the horses! Bring your unwanted jewelry items (gold and silver), and receive cash from Always Buying Gold who will donate a portion of what they purchase to our sanctuary! Visitors will also have an opportunity to see some of our most popular senior draft horses up close and personal, and for a nominal donation you can have the privilege of petting or having a picture taken with one of them! Our Mission is to advocate and care for special needs senior horses that require a permanent sanctuary setting and are not afforded adequate care if left in their current situation. We take in horses who have suffered in their former lives--after years of providing hard service to human beings, some were abandoned, some were starved, some were taken to kill auctions, some were abused. All are given the safe and fulfilling retirement that they deserve--with beloved companions, plenty of good food, space to move, regular hoof-care, veterinary and dental attention. Each horse has special needs --arthritis, hoof issues, old injuries, metabolic issues, blindness, dental challenges, etc--and we make sure that each horse gets the individual attention he or she needs. We are a 501c3 Non-Profit organization and your tax deductible donations will help give these special souls what they so deserve!
