Girls win Regional; Elrod top coach

Cannon County High School girls and boys both slayed the York Dragons. Cannon High girls took it all at Regionals bringing home first place as team with all girls medaling in the top twenty.

Emily Morris taking 2nd, Ade Harwood 4th, Zettie Elrod 5th, Kiley Hughes 6th, Tyger Kennedy 7th, Samantha Jones 11th, Akristia Sissom 18th. Angela Vassar made a comeback from a season off on the injury list and represented Cannon in the All-Comers regional race.

Cannon High boys brought home hardware as third in Region. Duncan Cook brought home 6th place, Brad Phillips 7th, Tristan Davis 14th, Tyler Southworth 18th, James Vassar 25th, Nate Campbell 30th, Jon Heffelfinger 38th. Andrew Smith had a strong run for Cannon in the All-Comers regional race.

Coach Brian Elrod won All-Regional Coach of the Year. He not only trained the teams to slay Regionals but also paved the way for Cannon Football for a potential full sweep at York on the very same night of battle.

The All-Regionals took place on Thursday, October 25th.

Both girls and boys will be headed to State on Saturday, November 3rd at Nashville Percy Warner Steeplechase. Cannon County, mark your calendars and head out to State to cheer on your favorite Lions and Lionettes as they compete for the state titles.
