John Wiley Womack, Jr., 73, of Woodbury passed away Thursday, Dec. 09, 2020 at St. Thomas Rutherford. He was born in Cannon Co. in the Sycamore community to his parents, the late John Wiley Womack and Dorothy Bell Keaton Womack.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Barrett Womack of Woodbury; children, Cynthia (Ricky) Jones of Auburntown, John Wiley, III "Jay" (Rhonda) Womack, Brian (Rebecca) Womack and Dottie Womack Smith all of Woodbury; grandchildren, Joshua (Deanna) Lance, Emilee (Erik) Buckmyer, Ethan (Cassie) Womack, Dillon Ball, John W., IV (Amie) Womack, Carrie Belle Smith, Hayden Arnold, Justin Spry, Amber Spry, Andrea Ortkiese and Abby Rhea; great grandchildren, Mason and Sawyer Womack, Georgia Beth Lance, McKenzie and Madison Ledbetter, Macey and Lathan Bush, Asher Cole Ball, Gracie and Josiah Ortkiese, Weston Barrett, Lawson Rhea and Anna Margaret Womack (due in April 2021); siblings, Julie (Jerry) Parsley, Mildred Ferrell, Margaret (Thomas) Melton, Ricky Womack and Billy Womack all of Woodbury; brother-in-law, Mike (Angela) Sellars of Manchester and best friends, Robert Smith and Buddy Retter. Al numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by death by his son, David Grant Womack; Sister, Dorothy Jean Sellars and brother-in-law, J.M. Ferrell.

A member of the Woodbury Church of Christ, John was a faithful Christian and loved the Lord. He retired early from International Paper as a supervisor when he was 55 and returned to his first love of farming.

Graveside Services will be 2 pm Friday, December 11, 2020 at Riverside Gardens with Bro. Eddie Boggess and Bro. Tim Knox officiating. Visitation with his family will be from 11 am until 1:45 pm Friday, December 11, 2020 at Woodbury Funeral Home.
