Flu season has had an effect this week on the Cannon County Lionettes basketball team. Wednesday the team was down to five healthy players and hoped to get Jalin Fann and Norah Walkup back by today. They haven't had enough players to hold practice.
The Lionettes basketball team will use whatever numbers they have and board the bus with the Cannon County Lions and make a trip to Dunlap Tennessee tonight to meet Sequatchie County. The Lady Indians are 3-3 overall with their last game resulting in a loss to Van Buren County 53-50 in Spencer. The Lionettes are 4-4.
Gus Davenport needs 236 points to tie Justin Davenport for top career scorer in Cannon County. The Lions have dropped two consecutive and are 3-6 on the season. Sequatchie County is 2-4 after losing to Van Buren Tuesday night by 22.
Tonight's games in Dunlap will be streamed live through the Facebook page "Cannon Courier News and Events." The stream is scheduled to be up and running by 5:50p with the tipoff at 6:00p.
