The Dekalb County Tigers are 2-2 entering their midway point to the season. Tonight's homecomung game in Smithville marks a pivotal game for both teams even though the rivalry is not a region game anymore with Dekalb moving up in classification this season.
Dekalb is undefeated at home having won the first game of the year 33-14 against Smith County and beating up Cumberland County 35-10 last week. The Tigers two losses were both road games.
The Lions are riding on momentum. After starting the season 0-2, the Lions got a break when Sequatchie County had to cancel their game with Cannon because of COVID. The Lions regrouped and have won two in a row putting their record at 3-2. A win in Dekalb would be huge in carrying on the momentum they've built heading into region play next Friday against Grundy County.
Kickoff is at 7p tonight. The game can be seen tonight via Facebook Live on the Courier's Facebook site "Cannon Courier News and Events". Stream will start at 6:45,
