The second go-around of in conference play starts tonight for District 8-AA basketball. If the season were to end today, the Lionettes would finish the regular sixth and the Lions third.
The second half of the District portion though will more than likely change all that. :00.
The Lionettes are coming off a hard loss at Livingston and their climb will be a little more difficult as Dekalb leads them by a game with Livingston leading by two games. Tonight they play at Watertown who has only won one district contest. The Lionettes beat the Lady Purple Tigers December 6th 63-32.
While it's an important district game for the girls, it's equally important for the boys as a loss tonight could take them down to fourth in the district where they might have difficulty moving back up. The Lions beat Watertown 67-64 in overtime in a game that the Purple Tigers more than likely haven't forgotten. Watertown is one game back in the standings of Cannon. Game time will be at 6:00 tonight. Games can be heard on cannonsource.com and Live on Facebook at "Cannon Courier News and Events".
