Woodbury Man Charged With Criminal Homicide In Disappearance Case

A Woodbury man has been arrested by the TBI and charged with one count of Criminal Homicide in connection to a missing Woodbury woman.
Although a body has yet to be found in the disappearance of 58 year old Laura Powers who was last seen February 23rd, 54 year old David Allen McCormick has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide in the case.
After a silver alert was issued for Powers March 5th, the next day at the request of 16th Judicial District Attorney Jennings Jones, TBI agents began investigating her case. Information was obtained during the investigation McCormick who had been her next door neighbor was allegedly responsible for her disappearance.
McCormick was placed on the TBI's Most Wanted List Saturday July 1st but was located later that evening where he was arrested, and charged with criminal homicide. He is currently being held in Cannon County Jail on 1,000,000 bond.
